Sir Kikabhai Premchand
 

In the 1930s, the inter-war years, Sir Kikabhai Premchand, together with his younger brother, Maneklal Premchand, provided the leadership to the family firm of Premchand Roychand & Sons. In this period, he also worked very closely on the definition of India's Constitution with his work on the Round Table Conference and the Simon Commission, which defined the path towards India's independence, post-war.

Sir Kikabhai was a flamboyant character with a series of beautiful homes in Bombay, Pune  and  Mahabaleshwar. He  was  a  strict  Jain,  who  always ate before sunset, but

was noted for the fine hospitality he always provided.He was knighted for his services to the Round Table Conference and the Simon Commission and was known as the author of an important Note of Dissent to the report of the Simon Commission.
